Watershed command taking too much time to work as a function, any alternatives that can do the same work for it ?

Hi, I'm using Watershed command in matlab for image processing but for me to able to take the data from image with this command taking too much time comparing to my original process. In order to reduce it or gain much time rather than watershed command what i can use instead of it?
